More than 100 Veterans Attend LTC Partners’ 2nd Annual Veteran Career Fair
Portsmouth, NH: (November 7, 2017)—LTC Partners hosted its second annual Veteran Career Fair on October 19, which provided job opportunities and resources to more than 100 veterans, members of the military, and their family members who attended.
More than 700 jobs were available with the 49 companies and five staffing agencies on hand looking to hire veterans. Additionally, attendees were able to connect with more than a dozen veteran resource and support groups.
LTC Partners was among three companies that offered positions to veterans the day of the career fair, and four veterans were able to enroll in veteran services, including medical assistance.
"We are grateful that so many veterans and regional employers attended this event,” said LTC Partners CEO Paul Forte. “Our team at LTC Partners worked hard to plan everything that went into it because we recognize the stability and sense of connectedness that a rewarding job can bring. A job can be the difference in whether a veteran makes a successful transition back to civilian life or not. And let’s not forget that the benefits go both ways: the skills and life experience that our vets bring to the workplace are of immense value to employers."
A veteran appreciation ceremony was held during the fair, with a keynote address given by retired Army Brigadier General Jack Hammond, executive director of the Boston Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Home Base Program. Hammond spoke about the importance of helping veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and other invisible wounds from service.
In addition to Hammond’s remarks, Forte read letters of support from U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and 2015 Medal of Honor recipient Ryan Pitts. LTC Partners also presented a $2,500 donation to Camp Resilience, a program that allows veterans who are recovering from the physical and emotional effects of war to spend time adjusting in a camp-like setting.
LTCP Partners partnered with the New Hampshire Division of Employment Security to help promote the Veteran Career Fair through various outreach efforts.
