LTC Partners Collects 1,307 Literacy Kits and Donates $10,000 to United Way's K-Ready Kids

Portsmouth, NH: In support of United Way of the Greater Seacoast's commitment to early learning, LTC Partners' (LTCP) employees joined together to collect school supplies for the second annual K-Ready Kids campaign.

Studies show that children who enter kindergarten ready to learn are more likely to attain their third-grade reading level and graduate from high school. This is why United Way invests in activities like K-Ready Kids. With support from the community, the goal for the campaign is to fill and distribute backpacks with books and school supplies for more than 1,000 children in the Seacoast area who will be entering kindergarten this fall.

To foster participation and friendly internal competition, the company encouraged employees to organize teams to compete in the K-Ready Kids challenge and beat their previous record: 621 literacy kits, which was equal to more than 60% of United Way's goal.

LTCP employees rose to the occasion armed with shopping bags and creative team names. As a result of these efforts, the company collected 1,307 literacy kits. In support of employees' incredible hard work, LTC Partners matched $7 for each kit and donated $10,000 to United Way to purchase additional books and school supplies. The winning team—Kreative Kids—was treated to lunch.
