 BENEFEDS is a secure website enabling Federal Family members to enroll in and manage their FEDVIP (Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program) coverage. It also comprises the payroll and billing systems and customer service functions necessary to administer FEDVIP. The BENEFEDS website (www.BENEFEDS.com) launched in the fall of 2006, along with FEDVIP. Initial enrollment in FEDVIP surpassed 700,000.
The BENEFEDS site will eventually become the single point of entry for all Federal voluntary benefits. Federal Family members will, in time, be able to use BENEFEDS to enroll in and manage their FSAFEDS accounts. (BENEFEDS handles payroll processing functions for approximately 250,000 FSAFEDS enrollees, but currently does not handle enrollment functions.)
BENEFEDS staffs a customer service center that enrollees can access via email (service@BENEFEDS.com)
or by calling, toll-free, 1-877-888-FEDS
(TTY: 1-877-TTY-5680). During Non-Open Season periods, the call center hours
are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.
BENEFEDS is responsible for all functions related to payroll/annuity billing and payment processing. This includes generating and sending the billing files to payroll providers and retirement systems,
resolving billing errors, sending direct bills when necessary, processing and reconciling payments, and managing employment status changes.
Long Term Care Partners, LLC, administrator of the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program, is administering BENEFEDS under
the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's oversight.
