Portsmouth, NH: On March 22, LTC Partners (LTCP) served as the presenting sponsor of the third annual Make 12 Hours Count Radiothon to benefit Veterans Count, an Easter Seals program that provides support and resources to veterans, service members, and their families.
Raising almost $140,000, the radiothon was held in partnership with WGIR-610 AM and WQSO 96.7 FM (stations of iHeart Radio) and hosted by New Hampshire Today's Jack Heath. The commercial-free radiothon featured interviews with a variety of service members, ranging from World War II veterans to active members of the military. In addition to being broadcast live in New Hampshire, the event could be heard nationwide on iHeartRadio.com.
"The support we offer is nothing compared to the sacrifices and efforts our service members make every day," said Chief Executive Officer Paul Forte, who announced a surprise $10,000 pledge live on the show, in addition to LTC Partners' sponsorship of the event. "Their commitment to our national defense and homeland security makes everything else possible—it allows us to live our lives, pursue our goals, and conduct business without fear. Moreover, as a federal benefits administrator, we recognize and honor thousands of servicemen and women who enroll in the programs we administer."
LTC Partners' CFO Linda Roth was among the 100 event and phone bank volunteers who helped make the event a success.
"I'm proud to be part of a company that recognizes the sacrifices the members of our military, both service members and veterans, make in order to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day," said Roth. "It was an honor to represent LTC Partners in support of the Veterans Count Radiothon. And as the parent of two veterans, I'm grateful for LTC Partners' dedication to this worthy cause."
Throughout the 12-hour radiothon, many stories were shared about the challenges military families face and how Veterans Count offers assistance.
Since 2006, Veterans Count has provided more than 9,600 individuals with services ranging from employment counseling, emergency financial assistance, deployment support, mental health support, and substance abuse services. The organization also provides financial assistance for food, home maintenance, utilities, housing, rent, fuel assistance, vehicle repair, child care, gasoline, and medical bills.
