Long Term Care Partners Sends Care Packages to Military Heroes and Other U.S. Troops.

January 9, 2012

In early December, the employees of Long Term Care Partners (LTCP) collected supplies for eight sizeable care packages that were sent to men and women serving overseas.

As part of LTCP's Operation Military Pride, the company's Corporate Giving Committee coordinated the donation and shipment of the goods. LTCP employees donated a variety of approved items such as instant coffee, powered drink mixes, crackers, chips, snack cakes, granola bars, candy, and personal hygiene items, as well as magazines, Frisbees, hacky sacks, jump ropes, puzzles, and comic books.

LTCP proudly displays a special heroes table with photos of staff family members currently called to active duty. LTCP Premium Administration Analyst Kristen Warren's fiancé Lance Corporal (LCpl) Lukas W. Daigle, U.S. Marine Corps, is serving in Afghanistan. LCpl Daigle will be returning to Londonderry, NH, this month.

"It was incredible to receive support from so many LTCP people," says LCpl Daigle. "On hard days, when home seems far away, it's the little things, such as keeping up with U.S. news articles or playing a game of hacky sack—and let's not forget all those American snacks—that make all the difference. We can't thank LTCP enough for their donations to the troops. It made us feel like we're not alone out here."

LTCP Data Quality Assurance Analyst and Corporate Giving Committee Facilitator Josh Goodrich states, "These packages will help give men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan a taste of home and a reminder that, although they are so many miles away, they are appreciated and not forgotten."
